True Freedom

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” – ‭‭John‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Freedom does not mean that we have the ability to do whatever we want. That is called license. The Bible teaches us that freedom and liberty in God’s Kingdom means that we are no longer living according to our own dictates, desires, and limitations. We are not tied down by sin and self, but instead we have been empowered and released by God to serve His purpose and will.

God loves free people! He does not want us to be tied down again by the weight of sin, the cares of this life, our own agenda, or even our own affections. His desire for you and I is that we be unencumbered, uncomplicated, and unhindered messengers of the Good News about Jesus! I encourage you, beloved one, to lift those hands of yours to God and invite Him to have His way, receive the Spirit of servanthood, the Spirit of adoption as a son or daughter of the Lord, the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. If the Son makes you free, you are free indeed!

Lord Jesus, I was once a slave to sin, but thank You for setting me free to serve You! I set my own agenda and desires aside so that I can receive the life of Your Spirit, and walk in true freedom. In Jesus name, amen.
